FAQs for GDHF 2024 Abstract Submission

The deadline for abstract submission has been extended to 14th July 2024, 11:59 pm ET. Please ensure your abstract is submitted by this date for consideration. No late abstracts will be accepted.

You can save and edit your abstract draft. However, edits cannot be made to an abstract once it has been submitted. In the event that your abstract is selected and requires significant changes after acceptance, please reach out to gdhf@techchange.org and the GDHF team will reach out to discuss your changes (eg, panel participants, content etc).

Yes, you are welcome to submit multiple abstracts. Each abstract must be submitted separately and meet the selection criteria.

After submitting your abstract, you will see a confirmation message on the platform. Additionally, a confirmation email will be sent to you with the details of your submission.

Submitted abstracts will be reviewed by a panel of experts in the field. The review process typically takes 6-8 weeks after the close date. Notifications of abstract acceptances will be sent out by September 15, 2024.

GDHF 2024 will be a hybrid event, offering both in-person and virtual attendance options. You can choose your preferred mode of participation during the registration process. For all in-person components, abstract presenters are expected to attend the conference in Nairobi, Kenya.

Upon abstract acceptance and speaker confirmation, abstract authors and co-authors will be eligible for a reduced Speaker ticket rate for both in-person and virtual tickets.

Yes, GDHF 2024 offers a very limited number of scholarships to support attendees who may require financial assistance. You will be prompted during the abstract submission process to check a box if you would like to be considered for this support. Please note that a request for support does not mean automatic selection for a scholarship. Only presenters of accepted abstracts will be invited to fill out a scholarship application tentatively in early September. Notification of scholarships will be sent via email tentatively in early October. Scholarships may cover conference ticket, airfare, hotel accommodations and a small daily stipend depending on need. Scholarships are indivudal based; any co-authors and collaborators of accepted abstracts must apply for their own scholarship. Authors of rejected abstracts are not eligible for scholarship. Scholarships are non-transferrable.

For any questions or assistance, please contact the GDHF 2024 organizing committee at gdhf@techchange.org. We are here to help you.
